Think back to last winter and you’ll start to appreciate the benefits of this innovation. Remember? Millions of people in the northern hemisphere suffered prolonged power cuts and were left in deep freeze conditions.        
Gas central heating boilers, which need a mains electricity supply, are sensitive ‘creatures’.  They can’t be powered temporarily by ordinary generators or inverters (an inverter is an emergency power pack).
